Traditional Charcoal Burn - 25th Aug 2008
Experience ancient forest life and learn about the traditional process of turf and earth charcoal burning.
Expert Pete Ralph will be on hand to demonstrate not only how this ancient craft was practiced, but to talk on how charcoal and iron shaped the history, landscape and communities of the Dean Forest.
The charcoal stack will be built and lit on Saturday, and the process will be completed in time for it to be opened up on Monday afternoon.
