Frequently Asked Questions about the WVFDTA Site

Who is WVFDTA - Wye Valley and Forest of Dean Tourism Association?

We are an association of local businesses all claiming their livelihood in whole or in part from the tourism industry in the area. We exist to promote our member businesses and the area as a tourist destination to promote high quality sustainable tourism.

What are some of the easiest ways of getting information from the site?

We have created a number of methods to navigate the web site - to make it as easy as possible for all visitors to get the best from it.

Travel By Tabs - at the top of the screen tabs are available offering a sensible set of choices as to what you might wish to do next - appropriate to where you are in the web site. Naturaly as you travel through the web site - these tab options change.

Pull Down Menus - on the left hand side - consistent throughout the web site - are a set of pull down menus - each menu offers a quick and easy way to choose a set of results from the system. We have endeavoured to make these the most popular searches.

Search Box - on the left hand side - again available from within every page of the web site - you can use the search box to seek out just what you would like to see. For the most intelligent results it is best to keep your search short and sweet, i.e. enter the word canoe - to bring up places that offer canoeing related activities.

Map these results - available throghout the site - sometimes on the top right hand side, sometimes also in the top tabs - depending on where you are. These buttons enable you to see all the items you can see on a map of the area - courtesy of Google Maps. Mapping has been integrated throughout the site, you can even get directions from where you are to the individual members place you are looking at - quickly and easily.
