Using the Website This page and linked pages give an overview of the website and how it is best used. Some elements remain constant, irrespective of what is displayed but other components change depending upon the context. The exmaples here are based on acommodation but the principle is the same for all types of business. The screenshot below is from the home page. The top lines of the screen are always shown and are used for searching for properties, attraction, shops etc. Read how searches work. The main image (canoes in this case) changes each time the page is refreshed as does the advert to its right. Immediately below the canoes on the left is a block Useful to this page; all page show this block but the content will vary depending upon what is displayed.
All screens also display a Generally useful block. The contents of this block are constant and give access to information about the area, the Association, how property is graded etc. There is also a link to the Members' Area.
If a search is made for B&Bs, the central pane will display a list of all property meeting the criteria. The Useful to this page pane changes to give a link allowing the properites to be shown on a map. In addition Filtering options are presented allowing the selection to be refined, eg to a property allowing dogs and children with ground floor rooms.
When an individual property is selected, full details are given in the central pane and the main image is the chosen property. Useful to this page now gives further options including, a location map, reviews, the picture gallery and details of its locality (eg Coleford).
To the right of the main details another pane now lists the names of other businesses in the area, eg Places to eat, places to shop, things to do and forthcoming events. These are all listed in order of their proximity to the selected property. The list of items show in this pane will vary this when attractions are displayed, nearby accommodation will be listed.
