The Old Station Tintern
Camping & Caravan in or near Tintern

Set in a secluded meadow the camping at Old Station is ideal for those seeking to get away from the stress and strain of modern living.

There are no showers but there is 24 hour access to toilets and running fresh water. We do not allow camp fires because the camping field is a conservation meadow. Barbecues are available on the site to use.

Booking is essential and costs £3 per night per person. Camper vans and caravans are not permitted.

The Old Station tea rooms are in an excellent location, but unfortunately the camping meadow is a narrow field just the other side of the hedge from an A road. It is not quiet or free of the stresses of modern life! The field is not particularly flat either. It is a shame that camping is not allowed on the field below the old station, which is a beautiful location.

Apart from the main road next to our tent we have no complaints. The staff are friendly, the view from the tea room and meadows gorgeous (not visible from the tents), the cooked breakfast delicious, site fees cheap.

Nestled in one of the most beautiful places in Britain - The Wye Valley. Set within an old railway station, the site is quiet and secluded. Facilities are very basic with only toilets and running water available, but even so, it is an ideal site to explore the amazing countryside, numerous walks and friendly pubs in the area.
The staff at The Station are warm, friendly and very helpful and are able to relate their wealth of knowledge on the local area.
We stopped for three wonderful, lazy nights but wished we could have stayed for longer - that said, we will definitely be returning.
