Hoolet Cottage (Priory Cottages)
Self Catering in or near Newnham

Situated in a quiet and peaceful location on the edge of the Forest of Dean and over looking the River Severn estuary, the two cottages have recently been converted  to a high standard and are now run as “sustainably” as possible. They have under-floor heating from a ground source heat pump, log burners, small private gardens, patios, barbeques, and parking for 2 cars. Hoolet has one double, or twin, bedroom (zip and link beds) with an ensuite bathroom.  The river bank and the Severn Way footpath are less than 100m away through the owner’s garden from where the famous Severn Bore can be seen. Dogs welcome.

Just came back from a 4 day break at the Hoolet - beautifully presented cottage, friendly hosts, unexpected welcome hamper including home made jam and fresh eggs. There is a fantastic view of the Severn - we watched the Bore from the bottom of the garden. There's gorgeous walks on the doorstep as well as sheep, cows, and a variety of birds and fruit! Can't recommend this cottage highly enough and will definitely return, a truly special, peaceful holiday.

Very well equipped cottage in a lovely spot. The cottage has been thoughtfully converted incorporating many eco-friendly ideas. It was nicely furnished and cosy. The owners were very helpful and provided a great welcome kit of local and home made food. Good local walks, very near the river, peaceful, lovely!

Fantastic accommodation in a wonderful location. We stayed in Hoolet cottage, which was very comfortable, cosy and incredibly well equipped. The owners were very approachable and helpful during our stay. We received a lovely food parcel on arrival, of home made produce, (bread, jam, eggs, butter and wine) which was very thoughtful and enjoyable. The cottage is child and dog friendly. A great place to stay.

Very enjoyable stay. The accommodation is very comfortable and high standard and the owners are very helpful and friendly. It is peaceful and serene, the closeness of the River Severn is a plus but is also a good centre for travelling to places of interest whilst remaining a truly relaxing setting.
